Mountains, Temples & Seaside in Japan

Travel from Tokyo to magical Mt. Fuji, visit ancient temples & shrines, and relax at a hotel on the shores of Sagami Bay.

About Your Trip

Embark on a Japanese cultural journey from Tokyo to the mountain and the sea — and back again — on this fun and fascinating DreamTrip. You’ll start your adventures with a visit to one of the most iconic and celebrated symbols of Japan, Mt. Fuji. This natural treasure has inspired artists and pilgrimages for centuries. At the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, situated roughly halfway up, you’ll marvel at arguably the best view of the summit, as well as the striking panorama of the Fuji Five Lakes area below. After lunch, visit Oshino Hakkai, known for its 8 crystal-clear ponds fed by mountain lava-melted snow, resulting in waters so pure visitors can drink from the source. End the day with a shopping trip to Gotemba Premium Outlets® for all the latest gadgets and fashions before continuing to your beachside hotel on Sagami Bay.

Then, grab your camera for a full-day tour of intriguing landmarks in Kanagawa Prefecture as you head back to Tokyo. To get there, hop aboard the Enoshima Electric Railway for a fun ride to Hase. Once there, see 2 culturally significant temples, Hasedera Temple and Kotoku-in temple. Continue to Kamakura where you’ll explore the Shinto shrine, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and the Zen Hokokuji temple.

Back in Tokyo, you’ll also delight in a day of leisure to explore the city to your heart’s desire.

What we love:
• UNESCO added Mt. Fuji to its World Heritage site list in 2013 and recognizes 25 of the mountain’s localities as points of cultural interest.
• While at Hokokuji temple, stroll through the tranquil bamboo garden or admire the Gautama Buddhist statue.
• Be sure to take some time to sample some of Tokyo’s finest dishes, including daiginjo (premium sake) and natto gyoza (dumplings filled with fermented soybeans).
